TRAVELOGUE : 8 THINGS TO DO IN HO CHI MINH CITY , VIETNAM

My fav lists to do in Ho Chi Minh city..

Hola! This is another Travelogue that I wish I could've posted sooner but I'm too occupied with many things. So, yes last February I and my friends went to Vietnam for a vacay. Vietnam has always been known for it's beautiful wonder, Ha Long Bay. But did you know that Vietnam has also many other things to offer? Check out my favorite lists when we spent our holiday in one of the major city in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City or widely known as Saigon. The locations and OOTD details are shown at the end of this post.

1. Pho-nomenal thing first!

So, yes. This is one of the signature cuisine of Vietnam called, pho. It is a noodle soup with broth, veggies and meat. As a moslem travelling in a non-muslim country, we should be aware of the foods served whether it's halal or not, therefore I already browsed where to find the halal delicious pho in town, so there you have it. It is called Pho Muslim, the seller is a moslem vietnamese and totally friendly and kind. This place is quite hidden in the back alley of Nancy Mosque, just asked the people nearby and they'll show you the way to the place.

Never ever judge a shop by it's location. Their pho is totally the best in town, so delicious!

And we also found this restaurantn named Daun Restaurant around Ben Tanh market, numerous halal restaurant available there!

2. Try vietnamese coffee first hand

Hey, you can never leave this country before sipping their famous coffee! I'm weak at caffeine so I just sipped a little and I ordered this must-try coconut ice cream!

Actually this was taken in Hanoi, but let's just say this was symbolic, okay?

3. Instagram-able photo shoot

Never ever come home without any good shots in your hands, for insta sake! Saigon has many good spots for your feeds, most of them are the remnants of the French Communal sites.

NOTRE DAME CATHEDRAL

This is the oldest major monument that is located within the center of the city, in the District 1.

SAIGON POST OFFICE

Located conveniently in front of the Notre Dame Catheral, this is the famous old post office.

BOOK STREET

It is located just across the Notre Dame Cathedral, just a stone away you have this photogenic hips alley to take tons of picture!

4. Lovely Cafes

Nothing beats good beverages and desserts after a tiring day! So here we found a nice cafes in town..

Enjoy the view of the city from the 51st floor! Have a drink and chill during sunset and spend the night with a great music performed here, oopsss we only drink soda, remember? So, check out this cool sky lounge in Ho Chi Minh city.

5. Stroll around the street

Every corner of this city is beautiful, gleaming with lights in the night and during the day you can enjoy the the landmark, flowers, shops in the city. Sometimes, when you are strolling around you'll find something great you couldn't find on the internet!

7. SHOP TILL YOU DROP!

Girls, gotta love it! You can find many good deals in the Benh Tanh market, there are other markets too but we didn't make it there. So, the rule here in Vietnam is, BARGAIN! Put your bargaining skill to use in this market if you want to have a good deal since many sellers might triple the price first before you insist, lol.

You can find many halal restaurants within this area too, a good meal after shopping? I'm in!

8. Side trip to Mekong Delta

You can't leave Vietnam, unless you visit Mekong Delta, they said. So, we took a day tour for Mekong Delta, and it was a great experience to sail through the longest river I've seen and I love hopping from one place to another during the tour. Such experience shouldn't be missed in your Ho Chi Minh travel itinerary!
